For a house with 2 adults and 2 children would this system be suitable?
For under sink pure drinking water yes. It has a 12 litre storage tank which is more than enough for most households, but if you do drain the whole tank you just have to wait a short while for the system to fill it back up.

Does this item comes with assembly instructions and does it need a plumber to fit?
Yes, it comes with full instructions and everything you need to install it. You can install yourself if you are confident with a little plumbing as its pretty straight forward.
