How It Works:

A 5-micron carbon block filter works by forcing water through a dense cylinder of compressed, activated carbon. It traps physical particles measuring 5 microns or larger (such as sand, silt, and rust) via mechanical blockading while simultaneously removing chemical impurities like chlorine, bad tastes, and odors through molecular adsorption.

Physical Straining (5-Micron Rating): The tightly packed carbon acts as a fine physical barrier. Any suspended particle larger than 5 microns cannot pass through the dense pores.

Chemical Adsorption: Activated carbon contains millions of microscopic pores that create a massive internal surface area.

Molecular Attraction: As water flows through the solid block, chlorine, volatile organic compounds (VOCs), and taste-altering molecules stick to the carbon surface instead of flowing downstream.
